Very productive weekend!
* I finally sewed the side seam on the Odessa sweater. I can finally move it from the current projects to the completed projects!
* I finished the Susan scarf (from Stahman’s Shawls & Scarves) in Bollicina. I blocked it on Saturday and will be picking it up from the lys this evening when I go to class.
* I finished the Charm scarf for my mother that I started in January or February. It is the multi-colored scarf just like the one I made for Grandma.
* I sewed in the ends from the clouds on the “Moo” blanket, now I just need to sew in the ends around the edges. Will definitely block on Wednesday evening during class.
* I started swatching for the Barbara shawl (from Stahman’s Shawls & Scarves) in Jaeger Cashmere.
I feel like I should have gotten more done but that would have required me not to leave the house ALL weekend, which I was NOT going to do. I made a list of all of the projects that I’m working on, not including the three or four pairs of socks and the afghan squares. It made me realize that I have a lot going on and it’s what inspired me to finish several of the projects this weekend. I also noticed that some of the projects had small things to finish, such as a seam or knitting a collar. I have to get the summer stuff finished before the end of the summer. I would like to wear the Fisherman’s Rib top at least once this summer - so that’s at the top of my list, it just requires some concentration to get it finished right. I’ve ripped out the neck three times now, so it’s not something to just sit down and whip out in an hour - although, I’m sure once I got going on it, it might go fairly quickly.
I found this on the ucomics site and it reminded me SO much of George. Though, I think he waits until the clock says 6am to wake me up. I should feel so privileged that he waits so late. :)

I’m back from vacation. I didn’t get as much knitting done as I wanted to, but I got quite a bit of reading done. It was very nice to lie on the beach at Redfish Lake in Idaho and read. Knitting wouldn’t have been practical and at night it was ultra nice to sit and read until I fell asleep.

The felted bags now have straps and are both hanging in the window at the Knitting Workshop! :) There are about eight bags hanging in the window. I feel pretty cool that I have bags hanging in the window. It was also cool to have something to show my students at the first class for both the beginning class and project class. The beginning class went well. I didn’t have that “I’ll never see that student again” feeling, which is very good! The project class went well. All of the students know how to read patterns, which is wonderful. It’s going to be my helping them work through a lot of the snags (no pun intended) of just working through a pattern. A lot of it is just understanding what the patterns mean since they are all different.I was home from work last Thursday and part of Friday because of a bad cold. I finished two squares for the afghan and started two more. One of those two is finished and the other one is just sitting because it has short rows that were frustrating me. I’ll go back to it eventually. I now have six squares completely finished. I’m a quarter of the way through. So much for only doing two a month. :) Oh well.I’m working on the Linen Drape top - “Petula” and the Susan scarf. I’ve been so focused on the squares that my other knitting is getting pushed aside. I love the squares because they go quickly (g,ood for summer) and they are each different so when I get one finished, I’m excited about starting the next one.
I still have to finish the Fisherman’s Rib top. Once I ran into problems with the neck, I just set it aside and it’s not getting done. I should just sit down on a weekend and work on it. I know how to do it correctly, it’s just a matter of sticking with it and being patient. I also have to sew in the ends on the clouds blanket and then block it. That’s another project that requires me to just sit down and work on it.
Must get back to work.
