Happy 30th birthday Brandi! :)
An interesting weekend. It wasn’t a usual weekend at all. It could have been a day longer, as usual! :)
Friday night, I worked on the “Rosier” sweater that I’ve been working on for a while. I watched the usual Friday evening NBC lineup – Mr. Sterling, Dateline and Law & Order: SVU. I went to bed early (for me) and slept a full 8 hours. It was great and I felt so refreshed when I woke up. My plan was to get my apartment picked up and organized and it didn’t happen. I did get the piles of laundry out of my living room. They are now waiting to be folded. :) At least, they are clean! I thought my new lamps might prompt me to get my living room whipped into shape, but I just didn’t feel like doing a lot on Saturday. I just wanted to knit and do laundry. I got a lot of knitting done – I finished the second sleeve of the “Rosier” sweater. I also watched an episode of “Christina Cooks” and several episodes of “Trading Spaces,” “While You Were Out,” “A Dating Story,” and “A Makeover Story.” Thank goodness for TLC on Saturdays. :) Laundry seemed to keep my very busy since I felt like I had about 45 minutes to wait for each load.
I went out with Brandi and Toby for the evening (see 8 Feb 2003 post).
Sunday, I got up about 9:30am and watched the political talk shows – “ABC News: This Week” and “Meet the Press.” I sewed one side seam of the “Rosier” sweater together while watching these shows. I’ve sewn most of the seams together, except for one side seam. I updated my sweater page and created a page for the “Rebecca” sweater that I finished in mid-January. Then I went to the Knitting Workshop for about 45 minutes and picked up stitches on the “Rosier” sweater for the collar. I’ve knit the seed stitch collar, it just needs to be bound off. Then I have to do the crocheting around the edge. Then went out to Bryan’s for dinner. We made vegetarian chili for dinner. His dad, his brother, Jeff, and his nephew, Michael also came over for dinner. I got to see Bryan’s new apartment. It’s a cute place and there is no potential to hit your head on the slanted ceilings. We watched “The Atomic Cafe” last night, it’s a documentary that’s all propoganda about the atomic bomb and the mid-1940s to the early 1950s. It was really good.
I’ve finally posted my list of 110 Things About Me. :)
I have about three inches done on Karla’s sweater. It’s going quite fast for now. I’m sure once I get going on it, it will start to feel like it’s taking a while, maybe not.
I’m teaching my beginning class tonight. They are going to learn how to bind off, cast on and do ribbing. This is always an interesting class. I can tell some get really frustrated with casting on, but by the time they’ve cast on stitches several times, they are pretty comfortable with it.
Currently for my listening enjoyment: (you can always find what I’m listening to at my listening to page)
