My name is Erica and I currently live in the Kansas City area. I’m a Youth & Teen Librarian at a public library in the Kansas City area. Originally from Kansas, I’m excited to be back in Kansas after a 10 year stint in Illinois.
My wonderful and talented husband Bryan makes me laugh like no one else ever has. I’m constantly amazed at how his brain works and the funny ways he can contort simple things in the English language and make them so funny. Bryan is a librarian by day and collage artist by most nights.
We live with our white cat, Bianca, who came into our lives in August 2008 after we lost two very dear cats, George and Chloe, in a short amount of time. Bianca is the focus of many conversations and her funny sleeping positions always make us stop and smile.
I’m an avid knitter. I started knitting my senior year at KU in 1995 and have been knitting almost ever since. I’m also an off-and-on spinner and the proud owner of an Ashford Traveller. Bookmaking has made it’s way into my interests after taking a Book Arts class in Fall 2008.
I love to read! I’m drawn to young adult novels but still love a good adult literary novel. Favorite books include The Time Traveler’s Wife by Audrey Niffenegger and Prep by Curtis Sittenfeld.
Fave bands/artists include Metric, Throwing Muses and Kristin Hersh, Neko Case, Stars and Death Cab for Cutie.
